Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Agricultural Bioscience International Conference Foundation, we are pleased to announce that Agricultural Bioscience International Conference 2018 (ABIC 2018) will take place in Weifang, China from September 15 to 18, 2018. ABIC 2018 is co-organized by Peking University and Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The theme for ABIC 2018 is “Technology for Better Life”.

ABIC is the premier global meeting which promotes innovation in bioscience to ensure sustainable food, feed, fibre and fuel security as the climate changes. Scientists, policy makers, industry leaders, and other relevant professionals come to present the latest scientific advances in agricultural bioscience, and discuss future directions of the technology, for the purpose of making our life better through technology. ABIC 2018 will be the first time for ABIC annual conferences to be held in China.

The conference will be held in Weifang, the city of Kites, with about 1,000 anticipated attendees. The co-chairs for the organization committee of ABIC 2018 are Xing Wang Deng, dean, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences, Peking University, and Jianmin Wan, vice-president of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Zhihong Xu, former president of Peking University, Jiayang Li, former president of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and other established scholars will guide the organization of the conference. Topics like biofortification, genome editing, functional genomics, genome selection, molecular breeding, GMO and other subthemes will be covered in ABIC 2018.
